Working with a client over a number of years is a real privilege. It moves far beyond “project work” and becomes something much more collaborative, strategic and rewarding.
I’ve been supporting Plantex for over five years now, and in that time I’ve had the opportunity to truly understand their business inside out - from their product ranges to their audiences, exhibitions and long-term growth plans.
Evolving a Brand Over Time
When you work consistently with the same team, something shifts.
You’re no longer just responding to a brief. You’re proactively shaping how the brand shows up, visually and strategically.
For Plantex, that has included:
Annual product catalogue design and updates
Marketing brochures across multiple ranges
Exhibition and sponsorship materials
Large-scale print assets
Bespoke illustrations
Ongoing design support as the business evolves
Each year we refine and build on what came before to create a cohesive, recognisable brand presence across every touchpoint.
A Proud Designer Moment
Recently, I was scrolling LinkedIn and spotted a photo from one of Plantex’s exhibitions.
And I had one of those quiet, satisfying “this is why I love what I do” moments.
Every single branded element in the photo had been designed by me.
From the large display banners and branded flags, to the full range of brochures on the stand - it was all part of the bigger brand picture we’ve built together over the years.
Seeing everything come together in a real-world setting, working exactly as it should, is incredibly rewarding.
The Annual Catalogue: A Key Piece of the Puzzle
One of my core roles for Plantex is designing and updating their annual product catalogue.
This isn’t just a document - it’s a major sales tool. It needs to:
Present complex product information clearly
Feel aligned with the wider brand
Be easy for customers and stockists to navigate
Work beautifully both in print and digitally
Each year we review, refine and improve the layout and structure, ensuring it continues to support their growth and reflect where the business is heading.
That consistency builds trust with their audience and saves their internal team time and stress.
Why Ongoing Creative Support Matters
This is why I love retainer-style relationships and long-term partnerships.
Over time, I become a true creative partner and an extended part of the team. I know the brand inside-out, I understand the challenges and I genuinely care.
That means:
Faster turnaround times
Stronger brand consistency
Proactive ideas
Less back-and-forth
Better results overall
It’s not just about making things “look good.” It’s about supporting marketing teams with clarity, confidence and creative thinking.
